“Oldboy” Optical Illusion

Check out the oldboy in the below photo? Can you see why is this an illusion? Be careful though – once you see it there’s no going back!

Desert People Optical Illusion

Anyway, it is truly amazing what happens when you take an ordinary photo, cut out the people in it, and paste them back out of their original context. Just look at the two photos below, and you’ll immediately see what happens.

Which One is In Front?

Which One is In Front?
this recent photo of buildings located somewhere in Egypt. With its original title “The building I thought was in front is actually behind the other one“, question I’m about to ask comes naturally – so which one do you think is actually standing in front of the other? Who knows, perhaps there are some of our Egyptian friends among us, who can confirm our findings!

The Hidden Chairs....

The Hidden ChairsThe Hidden ChairsThese chairs are something you do not get to see every day. Collection titled “The Hidden Chairs” by French design studio Ibride provides this beautiful, intriguing animated optical illusion you see on your right. It blew my mind first time I saw it! All of the chairs from mentioned collection look irregular and warped, but when you see them from a specific angle, their shape will remind you of the classic design.

When you see each of the chairs from a specific angle, you might easily mistake the right way to sit on them. Gallery below depicts this perfectly! The Hidden Chairs line includes three beech plywood chairs that follow three historical designs: “The Hidden Shaker”, “The Hidden Terence” and finally “The Hidden Wagner”.

Paris-based design trio Ibride comprises graphic designer Rachel Convers, designer Benoît Convers and editor Carine Jannin. The furniture was shown at Maison&Objet design fair in Paris, which finished last week. Let’s see if they manage to trick you as well!
The Hidden Chairs
The Hidden Shaker is inspired by the austere furniture of the Shaker religious movement.
The Hidden Chairs
The Hidden Wagner is inspired by the furniture of nineteenth-century Viennese architect Otto Wagner
The Hidden Chairs
The Hidden Terence references a typical Ming dynasty Chinese armchair with a horseshoe-shaped back.

Animated GIF Art of Paolo Čerić

Digital artist Paolo Ceric is currently studying information processing[processing.org] at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Croatia where his experiments with processing and digital art have resulted in a steady stream of fascinating animations which he publishes on his blog Patakk.[patakk.tumblr.com] Ceric tells me that he began about two years ago knowing very little about digital art or animation, but was fascinated watching
other coders create art with code. For a while he simply tried to mimic other animations he’d seen, but lately has truly developed his own personal style that varies from pulsating geometric patterns to glitch art and everything in between.
